SiyahKernel ICS 3.2.7.2 ( solo per ICS)

    Changelog:
    • fixed triangleaway support. boot partitions are not hidden anymore.
    • back to GZIP compression because of new lvm binary
    • nandroid backup from&restore to 2ndROM (restoring to 2ndROM will take long because of the formatting inefficiency of the data image file)

SiyahKernel ICS 3.1.1 ( solo per ICS)

    Changelog:
    • applied latest cm9 initramfs changes
    • if you use cm9 as your second ROM, remember that internal sdcard location is /mnt/sdcard and it is fixed. you should have Settings->Storage->(Press menu)Storage Configuration->Use internal storage TICKED but the internal/external storage order will be reverse if you use cm9 as second ROM.
    • this kernel may not be compatible with some aokp based roms until they start using new cm9 convention for mount points. in that case use v3.1rc6.
    • increased min_free_kbytes to 16384 to see if it fixes wifi toggling issues (thanks to wjchen)

    • samsung recovery binaries and some unnecessary files moved to the end of the kernel image to eliminate unnecessary decompression. those will be decompressed only when you boot into recovery, which will make the booting process faster.
    • Implemented clone primary to secondary, clone secondary to primary and swap primary/secondary ROMs in CWM Recovery
    • updated to linux 3.0.28
    • fixed ntfs automount for usb sticks. it will be mounted to /mnt/ntfs

    Changelog:
    • fixed blnww problem
    • rebased on update4 sources (no upstream updates)
    SiyahKernel ICS-R 3.1 RC4( solo per ICS)

I highly recommend that you reset profiles in CWM Recovery to fix smooth_target offset.
    Changelog:.
    • checked all freq and voltage interfaces and found no problem. make sure you remove boot settings and reapply after flashing rc2 or newer because the number of frequency steps has changed. we do not have 8 steps anymore, we have 6 steps. you have to update your init.d scripts or reapply boot settings accordingly. Just in case, I have added parsing 8-step freq settings and discard first and last settings and apply 6 in the middle.
    • added progress bar to cloning process.
    • new feature: swap primary and secondary ROMs. It takes about twice the time of a cloning process. This will help you to update your second ROM until I finish flashing zips to second ROM.
    • updated smooth_scaling defaults to new step level. (smooth_target=1, smooth_offset=2, smooth_step=2)
    • added available space checks to cloning and swapping ROMs.
    • updated to linux 3.0.28
    • BLN: fixed cm9 ROMs having touch lights off after BLN notification
    • create /sdcard/.nobootlogo if you don’t want to see the boot logo on startup
    • reverted throttling levels back to stock levels. your device will be cooler on load but this may affect benchmark scores if the temperature is high. run your benchmarks in a fridge [IMG]
    • disabled CONFIG_SCHED_AUTOGROUP
    • fixed underclocking still uses 1200MHz
    • fixed performance governor always locking to 1200MHz
    • used GB kernel’s touch sensitivity values which nobody was complaining about…
    SiyahKernel ICS-R 3.1 RC3( solo per ICS)

    Changelog:
    • new feature: BLN without Wakelock (BLNWW). Disabled by default. You have to enable it using ExTweaks app.
    • default I/O scheduler is set to CFQ.for default profile.
    • CIFS is now built-in, no longer a module, to save space
    • Superuser.apk, su, CWMManager.apk and ntfs-3g files are moved to the end of the kernel and won’t be decompressed unless they are needed to speed up the boot time.
    • samsung recovery binaries and some unnecessary files moved to the end of the kernel image to eliminate unnecessary decompression. those will be decompressed only when you boot into recovery, which will make the booting process faster.
    • we are now back to gzip compression after moving unnecessary binaries to payload part.
    SiyahKernel ICS-R 3.1 RC2( solo per ICS)

    Changelog:
    • removed 1600MHz and 100MHz steps
    • merged with cm9 sources (some patches for at&t version and lots of cleanups/rewrites. thanks to teamhacksung and Entropy512)
    • updated the build script a little to fix the module loading issues (which is, by the way, the main root of wifi toggling issues)

    SiyahKernel ICS-R 3.1 RC1( solo per ICS)

    • removed 3 sec. delay if you don’t have a second rom installed.
    • adjustable mDNIe settings (again from myfluxi’s repository) but I have not added any ExTweaks options to modify them. there may be some scripts or apps available to do it for you. I am new to this mDNIe settings so if you ask me my answer is “I don’t know”.
    • fixed sdcard location for samsung based ROMs when they are used as second rom.

    SiyahKernel ICS-R 3.0.1 beta1( solo per ICS)
    Changelog:
    • touchscreen sensitivity tweaks
    • sio fifo_batch=1
    • set default usb mode to mass_storage for MIUI ROMs.
    • disabled smooth scaling for interactive based governors (lulzactive and interactive)
    • prevented tick sound after reboots or in download/recovery modes
    • Dual-booting
For now, you will only have one additional option available in CWM Touch Recovery and that is cloning your primary ROM as secondary.
If you want to have another ROM as secondary ROM, follow these steps:
    1. Make a nandroid backup of your existing ROM
    2. wipe everything and install the other ROM
    3. Boot the ROM and make customizations. Don’t forget to reflash SiyahKernel if the ROM flashes another kernel.
    4. Use CWM Touch Recovery to clone your rom as secondary rom.
    5. Restore nandroid backup
Keep in mind that you will not be able to flash additional CWM packages to the secondary ROM. Therefore, it is important that you have flashed all additional packages and customizations in the third step before you make the clone in the 4th step.
    Some notes about dualbooting:
    • If you do not make any cloning you won’t be prompted to boot the second ROM.
    • you may need to reflash this kernel after a nandroid restore if your nandroid backup is created with another kernel.
    • there is no progress bar during the cloning process. it will be implemented later but for now, be patient because the size of data is huge and may take up to 10 minutes to clone.
    • there are some checks missing. for example if you do not have enough space in your internal sdcard (you need 2.1GB free space) you will not get a warning or error, but dual booting won’t work. remember, this is beta and not all features are implemented yet. In time, other dual-booting options in CWM Touch Recovery will be implemented.
    • you won’t be able to use mass storage mode for /sdcard in second rom because we have our data and cache partitions on /sdcard. only external sdcard will be mounted if you are using mass_storage mode. mtp should work fine for sdcard.
    • once again, you won’t be able to flash any CWM flashable zip to second ROM.
    SiyahKernel ICS-R 3.0.1 ( solo per ICS)

    Changelog:
    • fixed Task Manager/Active Tasks issue
    • fixed module loading issue which was causing some weird problems such as fm radio not functioning or android logger not working.
    • added fs and readahead optimization parts of thunderbolt scripts back (thanks to pikachu01@XDA)
    • set vitalij value to 5 for default and battery profiles, 3 for performance. You can use ExTweaks to customize it to your taste.
    • performance profile tweaks. you’ll have to reset profiles in CWM Recovery to be able to use new performance defaults.
    • adbd, init, recovery and lights.exynos4.so are recompiled using latest cm9 sources.
    • received lots of feedback from users who experienced wifi problems that this one doesn’t have any wifi toggling bug.
EDIT: updated on 9th April, 2012 to fix auto turn-on problem while charging in off mode (Samsung ROMs only). If you are on a Samsung ROM or MIUI please download again.

    • slightly decreased touchscreen sensitivity threshold to have better experience while charging
    SiyahKernel ICS-R 3.0 RC1 ( solo per ICS)
I recommend you to go into CWM Recovery and “Reset ExTweaks profiles” (in kernel specific options menu) after flashing the kernel.

    Changelog:
    • used lights.exynos4.so which supports both Samsung and CM9 ROMs (thanks to myfluxi for making necessary modifications on it for CM9 part)
    • added back BLN support for CM9 based ROMs.
    • fixed touch screen sensitivity problem while charging
    • fixed CPU scaling problem and sleep-of-death issues with screen-scaling (script or SetCPU) (thanks to Entropy512 to find the main reason of the problem. I have modified my code based on his patch and removed my previous workarounds)
    • ondemand governor is ondemandx now (it has a default screen-off profile with upper limit of 500MHz, configurable with ExTweaks app)
    • J4FS module (thanks to hardcore). I think Hellcat has an app in the market to let you change boot logo and that app needs this module to mount /mnt/.lfs
    • battery and performance defaults for uci.sh interface. the defaults are located in /res/customconfig folder. you can either copy them over /data/.siyah/default.profile or use “kernel specific options” menu in the recovery to select one of them as the active profile.
    • fixed MTP. It will work both on Samsung and CM9 now.
    • a new, hotplug aware governor… I didn’t test it much but the code seems good. The only negative issue I noticed so far is that it is from Samsung [IMG] (thanks to AndreiLux@XDA for giving the heads up)
    • MIUIv4, cMIUI and AdyScorpiusMIUI support. (not fully tested though)
    • Added auto-install of ntfs-3g binary and we are back to XZ compression because of this addition, but with -1 flag to have fastest xz decompression.
Special thanks to droidphile@XDA for his great help on testing this rc1. He had hundreds of SODs [IMG]

    SiyahKernel ICS-R 3.0 beta7 ( solo per ICS)

    Changelog:
    • LZO compression for faster booting
    • SLQB
    • Charge current interface (thanks to Entropy512). You can now use currentwidget to see how fast your devices is being charged.
    • Tegrak’s 2ndCore app support (thanks to pulser_g2@XDA) + ExTweaks interface to disable/enable/force hotplugging second core.
    • arm topology support (sched_mc) from linaro
    • CGROUP_TIMER_SLACK
    • enabled last_kmesg
    • lowered GPU lowest voltage level to 800mV
    • fixed hotplug rate setting in ExTweaks
    • removed autocopying of liblights for CM9 and clones. I will provide separate lights library for those ROMs
    • removed ntfs-3g binary from the kernel because we exceed 8MB size with LZO compression which is the fastest one. I’ll provide it as a CWM-flashable zip later.
    • fixed blank screen problem with custom dpi on cm9 based ROMs.
    • disabled MTP support for CM9 ROMs temporarily. use this app to get mass storage working on CM9: [Solo gli utenti registrati e attivi possono vedere i link.]
    • fixed low benchmark with higher frequencies
    SiyahKernel ICS-R 3.0 beta6-LPQ ( solo per ICS)

I recommend you to reset extweaks settings from CWM Recovery advanced menu after flashing this kernel.

    Changelog:
    • removed some tweaks to have better performance (sounds weird? yes, it does)
    • rebooting into download mode with cm9 phone options menu (holding the power button) is now working (yes, I am on CM9 now)
    • “Reset customconfig profiles” in CWM recovery “advanced” menu.
    • XZ compression
    • fixed MTP problem in CyanogenMod. (Thanks to codeworkx. Although I didn’t do exactly what he suggested his suggestion made this possible). I hope I didn’t break Samsung part [IMG]
    • RWSEM_XCHGADD_ALGORITHM
    • fixed adb in recovery mode
    • optimized CRC algorithm
    • CONFIG_TINY_SHMEM
    • removed powersave and userspace governors
    • enabled IKCONFIG

    SiyahKernel ICS-R 3.0 beta5-LPQ ( solo per ICS)

Once again, this kernel is for ICS ROMs only, but this doesn’t mean that it will support all ICS ROMs. It supports only Samsung Stock ICS ROMs for now and maybe work on CM9 and recent CM9 variants. If you have BLACK BLANK SCREEN after flashing this kernel then I am sorry that you will have to wait for your ROM developer to update the base or find another ROM if you want to use this kernel.

    Changelog:
    • fixed GPU overclocking/undervolting problems
    • I think I fixed the problems with brightness curve (line actually, but it may not be completely linear because of min_bl setting. therefore, I still call it curve. I was thinking about making it a second order polynomial.anyway.. this works and one my CS instructors told me to leave something alone if it worked. almost all of my EE instructors think otherwise… well… we’ll see)
    • some extweaks fixes (i/o schedulers added, some descriptions modified)
    • compiled with linaro toolchain 4.5-2012.03
    • CIFS
    • fixed overclocking problem (not using freq > 1200MHz)
    SiyahKernel ICS-R 3.0 beta4-LPQ ( solo per ICS)

    changelog:
    • full BLN support
    • fixed brightness problems
    • added SIO(default) and VR I/O schedulers
    • some config changes (RCU boost, autogroup, etc)
    • fixed recovery problems. I advice you to recreate nandroid backups that you have created with beta versions or you’ll have to create md5 checksums manually. sorry for that. I noticed that I left some part of a script commented out while trying dual booting.
    • experimental mtp modifications to support both samsung and cm9 roms (thanks to codeworkx for the suggestion). If it doesn’t work cm9 guys will have to wait until I find some more time to fix it.
    Known problems:
    • this kernel doesn’t support any samsung rom prior to LPQ (this is not a problem but I wanted to mention this first)
    • you may have to use another bootloader to use this kernel (details @ XDA thread)
    • overclocking still have some problems. I will try to solve it in the next release. cpu doesn’t scale to higher frequencies.
    SiyahKernel ICS-R 3.0 beta3-LPQ ( solo per ICS)

beta versions are tested (if they are tested at all [IMG]) only on stock samsung rom.
I highly recommend you to flash [Solo gli utenti registrati e attivi possono vedere i link.] just after you flash this kernel.

    Changelog:
    • enabled overclocking again. I hope that I have managed to prevent the usage of 1400 and 1600MHz steps during and after boot, until the user sets them as the highest level.
    • fm radio should be working now
    • removed deep sleep parameters (cpu and busfreq levels)
    • re-enabled the missing governors in beta2 (lulzactive, conservative,smartassV2 and interactive)
    • disabled smooth_scaling on lulzactive and interactive governors, as it was in GB kernel
    • fixed undervolting problems.
    • lzma compression to have a smaller image to save bandwidth at the cost of a bit slower boot time.
    • re-enabled BLN support, but we still need liblights.

    SiyahKernel ICS-R 3.0 alpha7-LPQ

Warning: This is for Samsung’s ICS ROM only.

    Changelog:
    • insecure adb although we have ro.secure is set to 1
    • fixed sdcard issue (please test and report)

    SiyahKernel ICS-R 3.0 alpha6-LPQ

If you need root, install siyah3-alpha6.tar with odin.
alpha6 is the same as alpha5, except that it will only run on LPQ (won’t run on any previous ICS leak or CM9, AOSP, AOKP etc).

    SiyahKernel ICS-R 3.0alpha5-LPJ

Posted on [Solo gli utenti registrati e attivi possono vedere i link.]
    Changelog:
    • based on latest LPJ kernel
    • added logger checkbox to extweaks interface. for not, it only supports disabling logging of some modules.

I decided to implement dual-booting while we don’t have the sources yet (or I will have to stop and wait because there is not much to do without having the sources)
here are some thoughts about the implementation:
    • it will work for ICS Roms (Samsung, CM9 or AOSP based)
    • you will be prompted for 2 seconds to press the home button to boot the second rom
    • we will have a new menu item in CWM Touch recovery: “dual-boot”
    • dual-boot menu will have these options:
      • backup second rom
      • restore as second rom
      • backup second rom to internal-sd
      • restore as second rom from internal-sd
      • wipe second rom data
      • wipe second rom cache
      • wipe second rom dalvik-cache
      • init second rom data partition (in case you want to initialize it to something smaller or larger than the default)
    • the default data partition size will be 512MB and it will be created in your sdcard/.secondrom folder.
    • the hidden partition will be used as the system partition of the second rom.
    • the cache partition of the second rom will be created in sdcard/.secondrom folder with the default size of 100MB.
    • “maybe” I will be able to add “install zip to second rom” and try to map some partitions to secondrom partitions to be able to install some simple scripts.
    • “maybe” you will have an option in extweaks to change the selection timeout and set default boot rom (primary or secondary)
what was thought of and decided not to be implemented:
    • dual booting between ICS and GB ROMs: this would require flashing ICS and GB kernels over and over. we won’t be using gingerbread roms in near future.
    • having more than one optional rom: we can have more than one rom if we can also keep system partition as an image file in /sdcard/.secondrom and have more than one optional rom. but I don’t think it is worth the effort. it will only create more confusion and waste more sdcard space.
I need some time to implement these. so, just be a little patient.

Warning: this is not a compiled kernel but only a repack of cfroot kernel. only initramfs part is modified until the sources are out.
    Changelog:
    • fixed cm9 support
    • suppressed extweaks remove-root.sh script errors
    • fixed the build.prop modification problem (removed it completely)
    • fixed some typos in extweaks interface and added idle-only & aftr-only modes for those who do not care about the battery life and want no-deepsleep.

Only for International version of i9100
This is a repack of CFRoot kernel with the following additions:
    • Runs on both Samsung and CM9 Roms. CM9 will not be supported until the CM9 team prepares a release candidate. So if it doesn’t work on any AOSP, MIUI or CM9 based ROM don’t report it or ask for help.
    • Auto EFS Backup
    • Custom CWM touch recovery based on v5.5.0.4 with gesture support. (Thanks to sk8erwitskil@XDA)
    • somewhat lighter initramfs (removed some files and added them as payload) for faster boot
    • some performance tweaks (from several sources, mostly from thunderbolt scripts)
    • ExTweaks interface to configure some kernel parameters. The config parameters are limited because Samsung has not released ICS Kernel source yet but you can still tweak some hotplug parameters.
    • Default i/o scheduler is noop (because we don’t have SIO yet). You can change it using ExTweaks app. and default governor is ondemand (there is no other viable option actually)
    • Removing+reinstalling root support in ExTweaks interface for people who needs to run some apps which require that your phone is not rooted. I needed to have this feature to run a bank application which refuses to run on my rooted phone. You need to install ExTweaks from the market to be able to use this.
